Yet time and time again literary figures ignore this tenet and reap the face full of semen that comes from sowing their fields with copious amounts of dickery. Chad Bowman, the protagonist of FIVE SENSES, is one such character that has not learned from the follies of yesteryear. Late for his meeting, Chad sloughs off his moral obligation to help the police identify the killer. With a wink and a nod this epic dick goes off to his meeting, signs the deal and then begins to imbibe the nightlife of Seattle reveling in his success with blondes and booze. While at the club, someone starts to play mind games with Chad: a hidden note on a cocktail napkin with the simple message “come forward” arrives with one of his many drinks. Likewise, the next morning Chad is greeted with a message on his hotel mirror reminding him of his moral turpitude. READ FULL REVIEW HERE!

5 Senses From Viper Comics – Worth a Look! Posted by Eric at www.ThePullBox.com – October 13th, 2011 Five Senses (Viper Comics – Black / Wayne / Sal Nieto) Chad Bowman was on the verge of having it all. But when he fails to come forward as a witness to a brutal murder, his life changes overnight. Soon, Chad discovers someone or something is after him. Now, Chad must stay alive long enough to prove he isn’t the real killer and stop the mysterious entity from stripping him of his FIVE SENSES. This extremely original supernatural crime story sells itself beautifully. The writing rocks! – the pace and the enigma-like plot devices hooks the reader and just won’t let go. I was not sure what to expect really, I haven’t read any decent horror comics for ages (hence the sparse coverage of horror comics on this site), but luckily Five Senses #0 was a great read and a perfect introduction to the series. The comic can be found on the digital comic sites iVerse, Graphicly and Comixology. “…this was an ace first issue that has left me wanting to know what happens next.” Click here to read full review!

Friday, September 23, 2011 Five Senses #0 – Review JUSTICE THROUGH CLASSIC HORROR In issue zero of Five Senses, created by Raymond Brothers, Scott Glassgold, and written by Jake Black, we’re introduced to Chad Bowman, who is an up and coming young business man who witnesses a brutal murder in broad daylight. The murder doesn’t fit with his schedule and perfectly planned life, so he opts to lie to the police in order to make it to an important meeting. That’s when the messages start arriving. Someone knows that he’s not coming forward, and it just might cost Bowman his life. The setup for this book is one of my favorite types in the horror and thriller genre, which is a person who makes a horrible and justified choice and must pay the price through supernatural forces. It also helps that there are creepy dolls scattered throughout the story. Those scare the pants off of anyone. “Five Senses has the eeriness of a Stephen King novel and the same cosmic justice that classic fairy tales are famous for.” SequentialReview.com Read full review here!

Comics Spotlight on Five Senses by Viper Comics By Raymond Masters In July, a faux trailer for a hypothetical film based upon Viper Comics’ Five Senses was released to the public. Viper Comics’ president even sent me a link to www.iamsenseless.com, asking if I’d be interested in reviewing a copy of the book when it was available. The problem is that I was unintentionally fooled by the trailer into thinking it was legit. It was that dang good. What’s funny is that the trailer was mashed together using various clips from Bradley Cooper’s Alias appearances, as well as those from movies he had been in. The reason why that is so funny is that my wife and I absolutely love Alias. We’ve watched the complete series anywhere from two to five times per season, and I didn’t pick up on any of it. Neither did she, for what it’s worth. “I’m ready for the rest of the series.” Click here to read full review!

You’re on your way to a big business deal that’s going to put you on easy street; you’ll be set for life. You grab a bite to eat and flirt with the help and when they leave, you sum up the guts to approach them. But when you get outside, she’s being murdered. The killer runs off and you stand there. When the police arrive, what do you tell them? Well, Chad Bowman says nothing; he has more important things to do. At that moment, his life goes downhill, he losses one of his senses and someone or something is following him. Ain’t karma a . . . “I looked at the art in this book and all I could compare it to was episodes of “The Twilight Zone” because it looked like real life but just off a bit, this added to the story. “ Read full review here!
