Well, the first thing to say is WOW! We here at Viper Comics were surprised by the amount of entries and the over-all quality of the submissions received.
You guys did NOT make it easy for us.
After going through the submissions we’ve debated, fought over, and finally agreed on a winner for the Artist Search and the Writer Search. So without further delay, here are the names of the winners.
WINNER – Chad L. of Hamilton, OH
His Deadpool script was great. He nailed the character, even had fun with the fact that this was a short story. Yet that limited page count didn’t limit the creativity and he still managed to cram tons of story into those five pages. Paced perfectly, leaving you with the feeling you’d read a full story, not a condensed version.
WINNER – Andrew T. of Palm Coast, FL
Setting aside the fact that Andrew delivered more than just pencils, what really stood out here was that of all the art samples, this one was the only one to make the central character (which everyone was free to interpret however they felt best fit the story) a woman. Employing creativity to steer away from the script in a couple of places, the finished art really built on the script and added a new depth rather than just doing a straight translation from words to pictures.
Chad and Andrew will be invited to collaborate on a web comic hosted by Viper Comics, and depending on popularity, look at a print version later.
All the other entries will receive an email over the next couple of weeks. And while you might not have won, several writers and artists did interest us enough that we might be looking at working with those creators in the near future. While we can’t give a detailed and personal set of notes to every entry, we will be sending a few comments that we feel highlight some of weaknesses we saw in general. Hopefully these will help entrants steer their skills and talents towards better results next time.
This has been a great experience for us at Viper Comics, and we’re already planning the next Talent Search. Stay tuned for more details soon.

You can follow Andy on twitter http://twitter.com/andyturmon and see some of his artwork at http://digitalcool1021.deviantart.com/
It’s been very exciting at our house this past week and Andy, with Chad, is ready to get started on a new comic for all of your viewing pleasure.
I keep telling him to post his entry on his deviant page but we will need to talk to the folks at viper and make sure there are no problems there. Thank you for all of your support.

Honestly, I’am speechless. The Shawshank Redemption is marvelous. I am not too old movie fanatic, in fact, this film came out whenI was very young, and thus I’am to a greater extent used to movies with incredible special effects, edge-of-your-seat action, et cetera. This movie has no of that, and nevertheless, it appeals me very . Way Frank Darabont applies the tale of Red to drive on the story, the excellent the music utilized (note the mouth harp used merely before Red getting the letter at the end). The whole film, from start to end, from actions to sound, is a beacon of hope, judgment, and repurchase. The cast is ideal, Morgan Freeman(Red) really brings about a fresh feel to the story, and that is precisely what the movie is, what a film should be. Highly recommended for each viewer.
