The latest round of ticket sales Feb. 5 for 2011′s Comic-Con International: San Diego resulted in a total sell-out of all multi-day and single day passes. Comic-Con Director of Marketing and Public Relations David Glanzer told CBG, “As of right now we are completely sold out. We will, as in the past, make available any returned badges for resale at a later time. We sincerely apologize for the way registration operated on Saturday and are working to find out exactly what happened and why.”
According to reports, TicketLeap, which handled the online sales had more than 33 million hits on its site during the ticket sale period. While the servers didn’t crash this time around, there was significant network slowdown with many potential buyers having to wait hours to complete their transaction.
The show is scheduled for July 20-24 at the San Diego Convention Center.
